Going Digital – What, When, Why?

COVID has forced many businesses to rethink their business models and we too have looked at how we can best serve our clients.

The COVID pandemic caused some tough times and unimaginable challenges for many businesses. It was truly heart-warming to see our client community and fellow local businesses pull together to show support and solidarity. Fellow business owners – we salute you!

As well as all the negative hurdles that have been jumped over the last 18 months, COVID also forced many businesses to rethink their business models and reassess their ‘norm’. Post-pandemic we have seen lots of improvements across a wide variety of sectors making companies more versatile, resilient, accessible and efficient.

Michell Obama famously said: “It’s important for you to understand that your experience facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages.”

At Ellacott Morris we too revaluated our own way of doing things, with a focus on ‘how can we best serve our clients?’ Our client base is varied and diverse and we love helping businesses of all shapes and sizes. We strive to deliver a service that is personal, getting to know our clients’ companies and guiding them to reach their milestones and goals.

With that level of service in mind, we have made the decision to offer only digital accountancy services from now onwards. During the next few months, we will be advising our clients individually about what this means to their current working relationship with Ellacott Morris, and what changes (if any) we will be recommending. We have allowed ample time for this change to take place, enabling us to work closely with our clients to ensure a seamless transition.

We appreciate for those business owners who aren’t currently operating their accounts digitally, that change can seem daunting. Never fear – we’re here to support you all the way. We know that the many benefits of digital accountancy (look out for our next blog article that will explain these in more detail), will only improve and enhance our clients’ current position, reducing stress and improving efficiency.

COVID undoubtedly showed us how dependent we have become on living in the digital world… Online shopping, Zoom quizzes, Teams meetings and even virtual parents evenings became our new ‘norm’. Now it’s time to take your company’s financial operations in the same direction.

We will of course be contacting every one of our clients individually to discuss these changes in more detail, but for now, we wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of our plans. As mentioned, we’ll be sharing more articles that will delve deeper into the realms of digital accountancy and its many, many benefits.
Should you have any concerns or questions at this time, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the team.
